Franklin County was formed from Mercer, Shelby, and Woodford Counties.
It was created on 7 Dec 1794, 18th in the order of formation.
Frankfort is the capital city of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the county seat of Franklin County.

Our goal is to help you track your ancestors through time by transcribing genealogical and historical data for the free use of all researchers.
