Created on 16 Jan 1827, it was formed from Franklin, Mercer, and Washington Counties.
The county is named for Richard Clough Anderson, Jr., a Kentucky
Legislator, U.S. Congressman, and minister to Colombia. Its county seat is
Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
It is the home town of Wild Turkey Bourbon.
County Courthouse
There were two courthouse disasters, on Oct. 26, 1859 and on Jan. 13, 1915 which resulted in Order Book D and Mortgage Book B being lost.
