Franklin County, Virginia
This county was named after Benjamin Franklin and
formed in 1785, from parts of Bedford and Henry Counties. It was the home of the Confederate General Jubal Anderson Early, and Booker T Washington, the
slave who became one of the main civil rights activists of his era. INCORPORATED TOWNS
