Broomfield
County
Incorporated: June 6,1961
Consolidated: November 15, 2001
Colorado's newest county, it was consolidated on November 15, 2001. The
area covered by this county is 27.5 miles with a populationof 58,298 in
2012.
Broomfield, the city, was incorporated on June 6, 1961 and grew through
annexations, many of which crossed the county line into three adjacent
counties: Admas, Jefferson and Weld
Broomfield Colorado is located near the inersection of US 36 and State
Highway 287, a few miles from Denver and Broomfield.
It began as an agricultural community, with tenant farmers working half
the land in dry crops and half in irrigated farming.
